Furnace observation cobalt blue glass is designed with the furnace observer in mind, and it allows those who are observing hot furnaces without IR radiation to see into the furnace so they can reduce eye fatigue and increase their vision of the items in the furnace. Cobalt blue lenses do not protect the eyes from IR radiation like the green IR does, but cobalt blue lenses are not designed for that.
